Had to get this out now.
I have dreams:
1. Own the most beautiful, inspirational coffee shop where anyone and everyone is welcome. And who wouldn’t want to come. I can see this place in my head and I am overwhelmed with its complete awesomeness. This is my dream. I am on my way Mustache!!
Now I need to set goal and get to following my path to finally see this place open.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,—I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!—and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.Sonnet 43 by Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1850)Posted on November 6, 2009 with 3 notes

I finally caught this hawk on camera. Last April it flew into my window and ever since then I have been trying to figure out what kind of bird it was and trying to take a photo of it. We spotted it last June and I figured out that it is a sharp-shinned hawk. We played its call over and over in the backyard trying to convince him to come back so we could get a shot, but it failed. I was so excited when I pulled into my driveway and saw it sitting in the neighbors driveway. I ran inside to get my camera and finally got a few pictures. :)

I want to beg of you much as I can to be patient
toward all that’s unsolved in your heart,
and learn to love the questions themselves,
like locked rooms, or like books that are
written in a very foreign tongue.Do not seek the answers, which cannot be given you,
because you would not be able to live them,
and the point is to live everything.Live the question now,
perhaps you will then, gradually, without noticing it,
live along some distant day into the answer.Rainer Maria Rilke (via omgitsjpax) (via quote-book) (via shany)Posted on November 3, 2009 via Quote Book: with 238 notes

Bradley Hathaway: Silence
What’s happening here?
I was once so alive and now I’m so full of dread and almost dead
Show me your wounded head that is lead to communion with the father
But where did he go?
His presence seems farther and farther away each day
but I’m trying so hard to steer his way
Yet still lonely and confused on this cold hard ground I lay
Speak to me wise mouth and say “it’s all good kid, it’s nothing that you did, and though it feels like I’m not here with you right now just be still and silent and listen for that sound..
Shhh..
Did you hear it?
Listen again.
Did you hear it?
That silent voice that just spoke nothing, that is me, I’m listening to your plea with open ears Counting all your tears flowing from your irritated eyes
Searching the skies looking for that hope that beyond there lies.
Oh you young worrisome sparrow, find rest
Lay your battered head upon my omnipresent breast and make it your nest
No strong cold wind could ever blow and carry you from this your home
Look around, see the life shooting up from the ground
Spring colors springing fourth and celebration of your trusting
It’s a constant process this is
Growing you into the man you are to become
But when you sense the setting of the sun know it is only rising and has just begun
Now go fourth, sing songs of faith, and lift up others in the midst of this race
And if you can’t keep the pace or lose sight of my face
Know that I’m always near so you need not fear
But don’t worry about all that right now
Just sit here and enjoy the peace I offer in my silence
When I am silent I am listening, and not abandoning.Remember this, Amanda? You know this is the truth. The very essence of your being has no doubt and only faith. Listen to it. He needs you and you need Him. Just go, trust, believe. Its all coming together. One day you will look back on this time in your life and know that it is all for a reason. You have gotten lost so that you can be found, Amanda. Don’t worry. Don’t be scared. Don’t be nervous. Don’t let Satan get into your thoughts and keep you from the truest love there ever has been. Listen to the belief that the very deepest parts of you are so sure in.

Unexpected...
One year ago I had no idea that I was days away from falling for the love of my life. I was wondering if I would ever meet you in this great wide world, willing to wait forever, thinking I would have to wait for a much longer time, but then you were here. I never would have thought it. I feel so lucky every single time your hand reaches for mine, every time your lips kiss mine, every time you whisper that you love me. I still get the same butterflies I got that first night we hung out and you moved closer to me on my couch. I can’t believe it is going to be one year in just a few short days. I never expected this.

So glad you posted this Meg! When this song came on, I stopped what I was doing and said “Who is this?” all happy-like. Quite lovely!
M
Jolly piano, sweet voice, happy disposition…just hit play. This song made it to the baby shower sound track created for Everly Veda’s first party this past Saturday.
Basically, Coeur de Pirate’s song Comme des enfants distills the thrill and excitement of an unexpected after-school adventure with your schoolboy crush down to under 3 minutes, with the repeat button to be used as needed. I pretty much want to put on ballet flats and spin around the room whenever I hear it.
I’ve introduced this little ditty to a number of people lately and it consistently goes over like room-temp butter on toast (i.e. perfectly!).
So, I hope you feel the same. Support this pirate-hearted gal however you deem fit!
